He gets punched, shot, kicked, and blown up, and seems like he's enjoying it all. He even gets a somewhat perverse joy out of it. And, like the Daniel Craig version of Bond, Christopher Chance is a brutal, no-nonsense fighter that has no qualms about doing what it takes to complete his mission. From physical action, to dry wit, to pulling off a respectable but heavily accented bit of Japanese, he does it all with a kind of suave nonchalance that conjures memories of James Bond (the Daniel Craig version). Chance has a lot of tasks to perform to keep his ward safe, and Mark Valley gets high scores for technical merit for all aspects of his role. But she's used to great effect here, in the role of Chance's latest client, an engineer and designer of a high-speed bullet train that someone wants to derail, by any means necessary. Since Battlestar Galactica ended, she's been doing a number of guest starring roles, many of which underutilized her acting skills. Lovely Tricia Helfer guest stars in the pilot, and she does an excellent job.
